Wildflowers and Whatnot

June has blown by, literally and figuratively.  It was a super windy June, with wind blowing from the south and all over the place.  It is not unusual for the wind to pick up at 3 or 4 in the afternoon here.  It always happens, even on calm days.  This whole month, however, has been one constant windy day.  It feels like I'm back in Idaho during Spring.  Picture overload this week: these pictures are out of order because there were so many.  The highlights this week: Spencer went to his first Scout Day Camp, and Rich and Luke went up to Island Park to hang out with the Priests and Teachers from our ward.  Spencer and I went on a beautiful hike yesterday up to High Creek Falls, thus the wildflowers. 

Spencer and I hiked to the point where the waterfall spews out of the mountain. You can fill your waterbottle up, but it is a bit more of a precarious spot than it looks on photo.  It drops off and the water starts to roar down the mountain.  It was quite a hike!

Spencer was the only one who would hike with me yesterday morning.  Rich and Luke were gone, but the girls were too tired after moving pipe.  It was perfect weather. 

  

We hiked up a little bit more over the waterfall, and we could see a gorgeous view looking West into Cache Valley.  Pictures don't do it justice, and it was another steep drop.  Spencer and I had to scoot on our bums down the mountain then we landed over the point where the water comes out of the rock.  There were some college girls down by the waterfall that watched us. They asked us what we saw up there.  We told them it was worth the butt-scooting. 
We got home and Spencer wanted to tell everyone about the hike.  Then, the girls both asked if they could take friends up there on the hike.  They are officially in the "my friends are more fun than my family" stage.

We now interrupt this photo shoot of Spencer to add in some other pictures.  Here is Luke's baseball team.  They lost their first game in the tournament.  

And here we are out of order again, with Spencer at Day Camp.  He loved the rock wall and the zipline.  He and his buddy Bops (Brighton) both loved the bike coarse.  It was a dry, windy, and hot day with very little shade.  They went to their camp just over the hill from us at Camp Fife.  

 Here we have Idaho. Rich and Luke went up to Sawtelle Peak.  They drove around a while until the Priests/Teachers got back from their excursion-- they had locked Rich and Luke out of the cabin.

Mesa Falls

Garrett had to try the Big Judd challenge.  If a person can finish it, they don't have to pay for it-- it's on the house.  Rich told him if he didn't finish it, Garrett had to pay for it-- not the church.  ($30)  He had to try and eat the whole burger, fries, and drink in under 1/2 hour. 

He couldn't do it.

 Aaaaaaand, we're back to High Creek and the wildflowers.  I really just hate trying to move pictures around on Blogger-- it's a pain in the butt.

We saw a rubber boa.  They look like giant worm/snakes.  

I took the boys down to the creek this week to get out of the house.  They built a dam. 

The Robinsons sent us some yummy treats! We didn't get to see them.  Their trip took a day or two longer than they expected (which I am not surprised) and their mother lost her purse at one point.  Lara said that they found it, and it all turned out fine.
